;I Balchev ;A Atanasov ;A LengerovMarking and engraving of aluminum was carried out by a CuBr (copper bromide) laser operating at the wavelength of 511 nm with a pulse duration of 30 ns. The reflection was investigated of the laser-ablated aluminum surface depending on the laser beam scanning speed and the distance between the laser lines. The changes of the aluminum surface were observed before and after laser processing by an optical microscope and visually. The laser marking quality was estimated by measuring the reflection of the irradiated aluminum surface by an optical spectrometer. The dependence was analyzed of the contrast on the speed for different steps in laser marking of areas of the surface of aluminum samples. Marking by a CuBr laser shows a potential for good quality marking of barcodes and QR codes on aluminum products. - PublicationCOMPUTER CONTROL THE ACCURACY OF THE PARTS PROCESSED ON CNC MACHINE TOOLS BASED ON STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL(2017)
;Angel Lengerov ;Galina Nikolcheva ;Julieta KaleychevaStatistical process control (SPC) can help manufacturers improve the quality of their products. This paper describes a relatively simple and effective method and algorithm to adjust the accuracy of parts produced on CNC machine tools using the methods of statistical process control. Examined the possibilities of the proposed method by computer simulation of the process. By using the proposed algorithm scattering of size is placed in the middle of the tolerance zone. Various variants carrying out the method are proposed adequate on the machining time during processing details in the sample. This can optimize the total time for processing of the batch. - PublicationSelection of the most influential factors on the water-jet assisted underwater laser process by adaptive neuro-fuzzy technique(2016)

; Ivo DraganovIn this work, a numerical model of laser texturing is considered. A finite element model of a representative sample of pure aluminum was created. The impact of a laser pulse was simulated, assuming a Gaussian volume distribution of the heat flux. Material properties are assumed to be constant and latent heat is accounted for. Results are obtained for the thermal field and the width of the vaporized zone, assuming that the crater is characterized by its maximum width. The numerical model was used to study the influence of pulse power density, reflection, focal diameter and pulse duration. The ablation threshold at different laser pulse durations was determinate. - PublicationINVESTIGATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF POWER AND SPEED IN CO2 LASER ENGRAVING ON GLASS(2021)
;Artis Bluks ;Kristīne Rabkeviča ;Raivo VasaraudzisLaser technologies are a major priority in the development of our economy and society in the 21st century. One of the main applications of lasers is laser marking / engraving. The laser engraving method is widely used in many industries, including the glass industry. There are many ways to engrave glass, for example sandblasting, but it is time consuming, expensive and not as precise as laser engraving. The report contains glass engraving quality with CO2 laser, using different power and speed values. - PublicationCARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) LASER MARKING PROCESS PARAMETER IMPACT ON MARK QUALITY OF POLIVINILCHLORIDE (PVC) MATERIAL(2017-04-19)
;Riekstiņš, Jānis ;Sivenkovs, Artūrs; Narica, PāvelsLaser technologies nowadays are widely used in material processing. CO2 laser systems in most cases are used in metallic material manufacturing and processing, taking not so big part in processing of plastic materials. This research is dedicated to find advantages or disadvantages and ways to use CO2 laser systems in plastic material processing, by taking PVC material as sample for experiments. PVC plastics is widely used in manufacturing of electrical installation details and devices, it is durable, relatively light, and cheap material. To provide application of various symbols, on the surface of plastic materials, can be used laser systems, which in long term can be more efficient than conventional marking methods. The aim of this work is to find if CO2 laser is appropriate for marking PVC material and to relate the mark quality parameters and the marking process parameters. The research was conducted in the period of time from March 2017 till April 2017, in the Rēzekne Academy of Technology, Physical process and laser technology research center. - PublicationTHE CHANGE OF CONTRAST IS INVESTIGATION OF 75 STEEL SAMPLES LASER MARKED WITH DIFFERENT MODES(2023)
; ;Nikolay Padarev ;Milko YovchevLyubomir LinkovThe quality of the marked surfaces changes the optical characteristics. The aim of the study is to optimize the contrast in laser marking of Steel 75. The influence of the step in the raster marking and the influence of the repetition frequency of the pulses on the reflection coefficient were analysed. The experimental investigations of the reflectance were carried out using a spectrophotometer. For the marked samples, it was found that when directing electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength in the studied range, there are areas with absorption and reflection of light. The reflectance is plotted as a function of marking step and laser frequency for the marked Steel 75 samples. - PublicationSTUDY OF LASER CUTTING AND MARKING ON THE FILT WITH THE HELP OF A CO2-LASER(2019)
; ;Nikolay Todorov Dolchinkov ;Jordan Shterev Ivanov ;Madlen Nikolaeva PenevaDenitsa Angelova BojhanovaDescribe the parameters influencing the depth of the laser marking of textile products. Experimental results are presented to determine the quality of cuts on felt surfaces of different colors at specific parameters - power and speed. Approximately 100 extras were made on two materials with a change in laser power and speed. As a result, the optimal results for cutting and marking a felt are shown.
