- PublicationEvaluation of Students’ Research Activities in the Design Study Programmes at Rezekne Higher Education Institution(2015)Nowadays education and research is promoting development of design industry. In order to find unique Latvian design identity the quality of design is increasing. New possibilities and requirements for design education and research are raised by social and ecological issues. In order to promote sustainable design education research strategy is needed, therefore it is essential to pay attention to research strategy in education process. The aim of the article is educational research as significant part of research competence theoretical and empirical evaluation and its activation in design courses' education process in Rezekne Higher Education Institution. The analysis of the learning research process was carried out in accordance with the principles of action research, theoretical researches in the context of the issue were carried out and the results were obtained: opinions of 80 full time students in the age group 19-25 years, about the role of learning research process of designers' education. The research has practical meaning, because it recommends suggestions for perfection of study process in connection to investigation and analysis of educational research promoting/delaying activities, and necessity to promote students' research competence for professional project work in the future.
- PublicationINNOVATIVE LASER TECHNOLOGY IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY: MARKING AND ENGRAVING(2017)
;Yordanka Angelova; The advent of laser technology in textiles industry has established a new innovative solution, which successfully prevents some of the weaknesses in the conventional technologies. Lasers are being used in Laser Marking (Only the surface of fabric is processed, fading), Laser Engraving (Controlled cutting to depth). It has been used extensively as the replacement of some conventional dry processes like sand blasting, hand sanding, destroying, and grinding etc., which are potentially harmful and disadvantageous for the environment. The article considers some innovative laser technologies, such as marking and engraving on various textile materials. The laser applications for leather and textile processing were analysed. The report overviews systems and ways of laser marking and engraving implementations. Classification of markings was proposed. The advantages of laser marking and engraving technologies in textile fields were pointed.Scopus© Citations 15 - PublicationUNIFORM DESIGN SOLUTION IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION CORPORATE STYLE(2018)
;Inga LesničijaUniform performs informative and aesthetic function, indicates the user's belonging to a certain institution or organization. This is a business card of sorts, which indirectly informs about the enterprise regardless of its working area. Purpose of the research – to develop a uniform design solution for the employees of the Rezekne Academy of Technologies, based on the study of corporate style features of uniforms, and analogue and textile material research. The research conducted shows the topicality of a uniform with corporate style elements. Analogue assessment justifies Rezekne Academy of Technology employee uniform design solution, based on RTA style book corporate style elements – logo, color palette, and uniform requirements. Analysis of the textile characteristics determines the selection of material and fitting. The research has practical meaning, because it is based on current situation research, user survey and uniform design development. Research base: 37 respondents of Rezekne Academy of Technologies; period of the research 2016–2017. - PublicationPEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS FOR CREATIVITY IMPROVEMENT ACQUIRING STUDY COURSE CLOTHING DESIGN AND MODELLING(2016)
;Natalia JelisejevaThe situation in modern education has new demands for university students. To be competitive in labor market nowadays professional knowledge is not enough, students have to develop personality that as far as possible indicates individuality and creative potential. Creativity relates to the ability to perceive the different, readiness for innovation, creative worldview. In order to achieve this target, pedagogical conditions that ensure creativity and motivates for creative world perception are necessary. Pedagogical conditions that foster creativity level: the organization of productive student work and informative - communicative technologies. - PublicationTHE EFFECT OF 3D PRINTING ON A TEXTILE FABRIC(2020)
; ; ; Gunta Salmane3D printing capabilities are also used in the fashion and textile industries. 3D printed textiles are a new opportunity to create an individual design. Traditional textile structures can be interpreted using 3D printing technologies and materials. One of the most important factors associated with the use of 3D printing technology is to reduce the impact of processing on the physical properties of textile fabrics. Availability of 3D printers at Rezekne Academy of Technologies (RTA) provides experimental work with fabrics of different thickness and fibres as well as different filaments. This study is based on the analysis of synthetic fibre cloth processing and the effect of 3D printing parameters on textile materials. By applying successive layers of materials, the interaction between 3D printing and textiles is studied. In terms of adhesion and stability, the best adhesion parameters for a particular type of fabric are determined by analysing the type of the fabric. The variance analysis method is used to process the research results. - PublicationStudents Learning Research Process in Fashion Design in the Context of Sustainability: Development of New Products from Non-traditional Materials(2015)
; Jolanta BanieneThe article analyzes one of the most pressing problems of waste-utilization. In other words looking at nearby objects, taking into account the long-term evolution of the planet. Introducing the processing facilities, promotion of unexpected and interesting design solutions, providing unnecessary items on a „second breath”. It is shown that environmental friendliness is not boring or very difficult, but interesting and promising. An introduction to students, setting up a facility to learn how to apply the principles of composition, artistic expression and harmonization measures, and learn about the design and manufacturing technology, new materials, original techniques and learn to creatively apply knowledge and professional practice. In particular, attention is drawn to high-quality and thorough completion of tasks. The aim of the study: sustainability awareness and development of the research competence of prospective designers, exploring the usage of non-traditional material within professional fashion design and design studies in the context of sustainability. The methods of research- theoretical -analysis of the literature, empirical – qualitative research methods such as the analysis of the study tasks implemented by the Rezeknes Augstskola and Utenos Collegia study programs “Clothes design and technology”, observation and analysis of students’ creative activity. - Publication
